The Vice President of the Republic, in charge of National Defence and Security, H.E. Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue, has issued instructions for the Annobón tuna factory to begin production and for its products to reach markets and retail outlets across Equatorial Guinea.
Following its inauguration, the priority is to bring the factory into operation, promote sales of its products and ensure an economically profitable business that meets the needs of the domestic market.
To this end, the Vice President has instructed Pescanor to organise an official presentation of its products, accompanied by a tasting, for traders and distributors in the country. This initiative will introduce the factory’s range of products, allow participants to assess their quality and facilitate the first orders for distribution to consumers.
He has also instructed the Prime Minister, the Ministries of Fisheries and Trade, and Pescanor to submit a table of selling prices to him next week. The aim is to establish clear commercial terms that enable traders to purchase the products and offer them to the public at competitive prices.
The orders received will help establish a clearer picture of domestic demand and determine the production volume needed to supply the market. This planning will allow the factory’s operations to be aligned with consumers’ actual needs and support its profitability.
